Graduate Application Support/Development Analyst - 3 Positions

This is a newly created role to join a tight knit team of customer focused application support analysts, subject matter experts in an applications used by market leading clients operating within a highly lucrative specialist market.

On joining you will receive intensive training and support on the software product, you will be introduced to all the various departments in the organisation and will be develop an incredible knowledge of the business, the software, the functionality and features and the technology platform the products run on.

We are looking for IT graduates working in software support, applications support, software development or testing. We are looking for individuals who love to engage with customers, solve problems and deliver an incredible customer experience.

The successful individual will have first class communication skills and come with a good academic background - ideally degree qualified - although this isn’t essential. Technical skills will be trained but special attention will be given to anyone who has experience of SQL and Cloud technologies, even if self-taught or gained at University.

Useful Skills:

  • Client communication
  • Customer Support
  • Meeting Helpdesk SLA commitments
  • Service Management tool like Remedy
  • SQL Database, T SQL
  • Basic Scripting knowledge e.g. PERL, PYTHON, K-Shell
  • HTML, JavaScript, Cloud Computing (AWS or Azure)
  • Windows, MS Office, Adobe Acrobat
  • Unix (Solaris).


  • Monitoring IT systems including morning checks – Check system status
  • Checking monitoring emails for errors,
  • Email to Team and Client
  • Application bug fixing and enhancement
  • Development of new functionality in IT systems

Sites and areas the requires access to:

  • Access to East Kilbride only as an accredited site. Access to all EDF Energy non-accredited sites as required.

The areas within those sites to which access will be required:

  • In East Kilbride access is required in the general office areas only.

The technologies the individual will have access to:

  • EDF Energy Applications for Generation and HPC Business Unit.
