What are your first impressions?
The work spaces and offices are of a very high standard, with cutting edge technology and usability in mind.
What have you been working on during your first month?
I joined the team here during the scheme design of a logistics and admin building serving a data centre in Denmark, so I was able to get on the project early on.
What are you looking forward to over the next few months?
I am keen to get out on site to see the physical construction of a building and to add tangibility and perspective to the office work I do day-to-day.
What attracted you to Cundall?
The drive for sustainability attracted me to Cundall. The first engineering consultancy to be affiliated with the One Planet Living, and the opportunities to be able to work in any of the global offices. I feel encouraged to actively get involved in the community, think about my own carbon footprint and how my daily life impacts the environment we live in.
What are your first impressions?
I feel there is a sense of community, where colleagues are friendly and can easily communicate with each other, be it face-to-face, skype call or email.
There is always someone you can go to for help, even with the simplest of questions.
What are your first impressions?
I have been impressed with the diversity of the office. In the past I have found engineering to be a mostly male dominated profession, but half of the new intake are female.
What have you been working on during your first month?
I have been involved in some of the design of data centres. This is a completely new field of engineering for me and I have been learning fast.
What are you looking forward to over the next few months?
The Cundall Diploma is about to kick off for new starters which I am looking forward to. It will be a great chance to build up my knowledge on sustainable.
What attracted you to Cundall?
Cundall seemed like the sort of company with a great atmosphere who care about the right things regarding employee happiness and sustainability.
What are your first impressions?
People are very social, I play football with work colleagues every week and people are happy to go for a few drinks after work on a Friday.
Are you enjoying working life?
I am enjoying working life as its came as a much-needed change to the last 4 years I spent as a student. Sometimes I do miss the 2am pizzas but I am really enjoying having more structure and focus to everyday life.
What have you been working on during your first month?
We've been thrown in on a high-profile project that is very busy. There's plenty to do and I've been able to help out on many different things. We've also been to the other offices for inductions and learnt about the whole company from the different departments and what they offer.
Are you enjoying working life?
It’s been different but so much fun. They have a great social atmosphere at the company and I’ve also been taking the time to enjoy my new city.
Tell us an interesting fact about yourself.
I like to play ultimate frisbee.
What attracted you to Cundall?
There are lots of consultancies but what made Cundall stand out was its multi-disciplinary expertise and commitment to sustainability.
What have you been working on during your first month?
I’m already helping my team in the design process of advanced data centres, learning how a project is managed and communication is made between the stakeholders.
Are you enjoying working life?
No two days are the same, you get to go on site visits, client meetings, seminars etc. Being based in the London office I get to walk across the Millennium Bridge up to St. Pauls every day.
