This is a rare and exciting new opportunity to join us in a graduate level role in our new Pet Insurance team. You’ll be part of Admiral’s new Pet Insurance team, where you’ll support the launch and strategy of the product through competitor benchmarking, pricing reviews and analysis on customer segments. Your role will involve working as a team member of a close-knit team to create pricing reports, interpret data and make suggestions for pricing changes as well as strategy for external data sources we could use to improve pricing. You would also be involved with technical implementation of pricing changes and testing and ensuring the pricing engine works smoothly.

We are looking for an aspiring and enthusiastic graduate with good numerical skills, who is a fast-learner and willing to learn programming skills using SAS and other related software used for manipulating and analysing big data. You will need to be ready to take on new challenges and be focused on execution.

Training for the role will be provided under the mentorship of the Pricing Manager. You will be part of an exclusive team of less than 5 team members and will have plenty of opportunity to interact and learn from others.

Prior work experience is not required for this role, but the candidate must demonstrate willingness to work hard and succeed through prior university course-work and/or extracurricular activities.

Main Duties

This is a broad role in which we expect you to be our pricing/data expert reference point and you will:

  • Review pricing structure and recommend changes based on analysis of performance of different customer segments and competitor benchmarking
  • Review external data sources for value to insurance pricing and make recommendations
  • Create and run regular reports that highlights performance by different segments
  • Act as a liaison for pricing department and answer any customer queries related to Pricing
  • Implement and test Pricing related changes being implemented in the system

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • 2.1 or higher in a numerate degree such as Mathematics or Engineering 
  • Good Excel skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and priorities
  • Highly motivated and ability to work off your own initiative
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience with any programming language is preferred but not required; in-house training will be provided to adapt to the role’s requirements
