IT/Analytics/Computer Science.

Save to shortlist Saved to shortlist Apply now

For our Developer Scheme we’re looking for ambitious and enthusiastic graduates with a work-hard, play-hard mentality and the drive to succeed, who are keen to join the fast paced world of Admiral Group’s start up venture, Admiral Pioneer, in Cardiff city centre.

About Admiral Pioneer

Admiral Pioneer is a new entity within Admiral Group with the objective of seeding, launching and scaling new businesses in areas of increasing societal importance. We are focusing on three significant domains:

  • Mobility
  • Future of Work
  • Live to 101

These domains are long term growth areas for Admiral. We anchor around meeting customer needs and are focused on experimenting and proving new products, business models and partnerships through a discovery driven approach.

Last hints & tips

We round off the webinar with some final (and extremely useful) hints and tips from Recruiter Sam. To watch the full Gradcracker/Admiral webinar click here.

We aren’t an incubator, we are building a dynamic and energising environment where we will provide all the excitement and freedom of a start-up, with the support and stability of an established organisation. We want to recruit passionate business builders who look at the world and see huge opportunities to change it.

The Small Business team

Surviving in business is tough. Succeeding is even harder. We want to make it possible for more small businesses to survive and thrive - by building personalised products and services that allow our customers to run their business as well as they perform their craft.

We are a high-impact collaborative team of passionate individuals who are constantly looking at ways to enhance customer experience through a human centered design approach, rigour experimentation and a test and learn mindset. We are looking for bright and talented individuals who have a can-do attitude and will thrive in this enabling environment. We treat our colleagues openly, equally, and fairly and give them a ton of opportunity and freedom to do their best work and make a positive impact.

Developer Scheme

You should have an IT-related degree (2.1 and above), which will form the foundation for you to build upon during the graduate programme. We want to see a passion for IT and development, either through education or private study.

You’ll complete the graduate scheme within our Small Business team and will have the opportunity to work on a range of technical projects covering Full Stack Application Development, Data Engineering, BI & Analytics and Quality Assurance and Testing. You won’t need to have any prior insurance or financial knowledge.

Throughout the graduate programme you’ll be given real projects that will have a measurable impact on our business. You’ll be exposed to a variety of technology areas, be given real responsibility and will be expected to push yourself further. You’ll need to deliver value to our business, be confident in making decisions, and always be on the lookout for improvements and innovative solutions.

In return, we will invest heavily in you and your personal and professional development. You’ll be supported by our Small Business Management Team, as well as your own dedicated business mentor and graduate buddy, for help, advice, and professional guidance throughout the graduate programme.

By the end of the Developer Graduate Programme you will be ready to move into a permanent role with us. Our aim is for the programme to help pave the way for you to have a successful, rewarding and exciting career with us. You’ll have the chance to shape your career and find something that you truly enjoy.

Programme Facts and Figures

  • Start date: September/October 2022
  • 33 days annual leave including bank holidays (pro rata on starting), plus up to 3 days unpaid leave every year
  • 39.5 working hours per week (Mon-Fri) (flexi time)
  • A permanent position with the company (subject to a 6-month probationary period)

What we’re looking for

  • 2.1 or above in an IT related subject
  • Some previous work experience (paid or unpaid, any industry)

Salary, Benefits & Work-Life Balance

At Admiral Pioneer, we are proud to be a diverse business where we put our people and customers first. We have great benefits to ensure employees have a great work-life balance; it's one of the reasons why we're consistently voted one of the Sunday Times’ Best Big Companies to work for in the UK. We want you to have an element of freedom to define a working lifestyle that supports this, so accommodate flexible hours wherever possible.

We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.

(This means that we will supply feedback if requested after an interview.)
