The Candidate 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Performance and Information Analyst to join the Information Services Team at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust on temporary fixed term contract of 2 years.  

You will be involved in the provision of reports to support the organisation. You will also be responsible for external reporting of the Trust’s position, ensuring reports are submitted in a complete and timely manner. 

You should be educated to degree level (or equivalent relevant experience in an information role), possess knowledge of databases and Microsoft Office. You will need to have good written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of SQL and statistical analysis would advantage.

Skills and experience 

  • Experience of data analysis work with ability to produce reports including graphical representations
  • Advanced knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Experience of combining data from several data sources to run complex queries
  • Ability to analyse information, including receiving highly complex and sensitive information on patient details and diagnoses
  • Ability to interpret, draw conclusions from analysis and synthesise new knowledge from the findings.
  • Ability to relay conflicting and contentious findings to those receiving it. 
  • Ability to understand national policy and guidance documents to provide expertise on information issues.
  • Ability to develop expert technical knowledge of information systems including in depth knowledge of NHS data definitions.
  • Good knowledge of computer languages (SQL)
