Hanson UK is a leading supplier of heavy building materials to the construction industry.
Purpose of/responsibilities of the role
To gain as much experience as possible across Hanson UK, developing operational, commercial and leadership skills
Development programme for future operational managers in any of Hanson's business lines
General Management and Risk Management
Ensuring compliance with various Acts, Regulations and licence conditions and accreditations that apply within the business
Record any non-conformance, hazard or complaint and act to investigate and carry out any necessary action to correct
Assist with management with preparation of reports, budgets and other relevant reports
Undertake operational improvement programs as specified to improve costs, availability, performance, customer service and operational excellence
Operations
Gain and develop knowledge of the key production areas (Aggregates, Asphalt, Concrete and Cement)
Be able to control, direct and plan ongoing maintenance in conjunction with the management team for fixed and mobile equipment
Organise day-to-day operations, with guidance from the management team, to ensure appropriate levels of staffing and materials
Skills/Experience
A degree, preferably a 2:1, in engineering (mechanical or electrical) Chemical or STEM related subjects
Ability to express yourself through both verbal and written communication
Strong numerical, analytical and reporting skills
Excellent IT skills, including the full suite of Microsoft applications
Full, clean driving licence for UK travel
