Graduate Trainee Manager for General Business Lines or Cement

Purpose of/responsibilities of the role

• To gain as much experience as possible across Hanson UK, developing operational, commercial and leadership skills
• Development programme for future operational managers in any of Hanson's business lines

General Management and Risk Management

• Ensuring compliance with various Acts, Regulations and licence conditions and accreditations that apply within the business
• Record any non-conformance, hazard or complaint and act to investigate and carry out any necessary action to correct
• Assist with management with preparation of reports, budgets and other relevant reports
• Undertake operational improvement programs as specified to improve costs, availability, performance, customer service and operational excellence

Operations

• Gain and develop knowledge of the key production areas (Aggregates, Asphalt, Concrete and Cement)
• Be able to control, direct and plan ongoing maintenance in conjunction with the management team for fixed and mobile equipment
• Organise day-to-day operations, with guidance from the management team, to ensure appropriate levels of staffing and materials

Skills/Experience

• A degree, preferably a 2:1, in engineering (mechanical or electrical) Chemical or STEM related subjects
• Ability to express yourself through both verbal and written communication
• Strong numerical, analytical and reporting skills
• Excellent IT skills, including the full suite of Microsoft applications
• Full, clean driving licence for UK travel
