FAQs

What does FT Consulting do?

FTI Consulting is a leading business advisory firm with more than 7,000 professionals located across our global network. As an expert based firm, our clients call on us when they are facing their greatest challenges and opportunities.

Our professionals have seats at the table for high-impact engagements that shape history, including the Wells Fargo consumer fraud investigation, Yahoo! data breach, Queensland Nickel liquidation, AT&T/Time Warner antitrust clearance and Steinhoff restructuring, among others.

FTI Consulting is organised into six distinct businesses: Corporate Finance & Restructuring, Forensic & Litigation Consulting, Health Solutions, Economic Consulting, Technology and Strategic Communications. Each of these businesses is a global leader in its own right for one simple reason: we have a tangible, positive impact on how our clients manage change, mitigate risk and resolve disputes.

What differentiates FTI Consulting from its competitors?

As the world’s leading expert-based firm, FTI Consulting is involved in high profile, dynamic and complex matters – headline making matters that impact history. From our work on the AT&T/Time Warner antitrust clearance to our role in tracking down the ill-gotten Madoff funds and our roles in the Bush vs. Gore and OJ Simpson trials – when it matters most, FTI Consulting is there.

What is FTI Consulting's culture like?

Our culture is entrepreneurial, client service oriented and collaborative. We value diversity, inclusion, recognition, professional development and making a difference in the communities in which we do business. We have numerous global programmes that support each of these areas and encourage our people to make an impact where they are most passionate.

What kind of candidate is FTI Consulting looking for?

We seek passionate, collaborative, innovative and ambitious individuals with diverse backgrounds, perspectives and expertise. We are continuously looking for candidates who have big ideas, are committed to excellence and aren’t afraid to roll-up their sleeves to deliver in high impact situations.

How much travel can I expect?

Your travel will be informed by the type of role you are in and the projects that you are assigned. More information about travel expectations specific to a role will be provided as part of the interview process.

What kind of training can new hires expect when they join FT Consulting?

We believe learning and development are critical to both your success and the success of the firm. Most learning and development opportunities at FTI Consulting are on the job, working side by side with your clients and colleagues. You will also benefit from a blended learning experience, which includes on site classroom, virtual and e-learning courses with curated curriculum for your unique role.

What is the career progression for a consultant at FTI Consulting?

Most of the firm’s roles have six levels of career progression: Consultant, Senior Consultant, Director, Senior Director, Managing Director and Senior Managing Director. Timing of promotions will vary across businesses and are based on performance and business needs rather than tenure.
