About us

At Capital One, we’re building a leading information-based technology company. Still founder-led by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Fairbank, Capital One is on a mission to help our customers succeed by bringing ingenuity, simplicity, and humanity to banking. We measure our efforts by the success our customers enjoy and the advocacy they exhibit. We are succeeding because they are succeeding.

Guided by our shared values, we thrive in an environment where collaboration and openness are valued. We believe that innovation is powered by perspective and that teamwork and respect for each other lead to superior results. We elevate each other and obsess about doing the right thing. Our associates serve with humility and a deep respect for their responsibility in helping our customers achieve their goals and realise their dreams. Together, we are on a quest to change banking for good.

Could you imagine yourself as a Finance Analyst intern?

If you’re in your penultimate year at uni, an internship could help you jump the queue onto one of our graduate programmes.

Over ten weeks, you’ll be taking on real projects and development training. You’ll have a buddy on your team, a programme mentor – and you’ll even get to meet the CEO. You can also expect to:

  • Find ways to boost our profits by analysing and forecasting our business results.
  • Work on analytical projects that’ll help to shape our entire business strategy.
  • Help us to find creative new improvements to things like report automation and data visualisation.
  • Keep our US parent company up to date on what’s happening at Capital One, with reports directly to our top leaders.

Star Tech Next Generation

How does Capital One challenge the perceptions of office life?

You’ll be a people person with a head for figures

It’s no good understanding the figures if you can’t explain them. You’ll need to keep information flowing smoothly to and from lots of different people.

We’re #11 in Glassdoor’s ‘Best Places to Work In The UK’ list

We got those awards by practising what we preach. We make work life informal, flexible and simple, so our people can get creative. (Although the high starting salaries and other perks are probably factors too.)

All our interns get an £18,000 pro-rata salary (what you’d get if you worked the full year), with a £1,000 signing bonus.
