As the GRAHAM business continues to grow and develop, we are looking for an enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer for our Interior Fit Out business. The successful candidate will work on project(s) for out Interior Fit Out providing support to our existing Site Management Team.

As a Mechanical/Electrical Engineer, you will be working under one of our experienced Building Services Managers to assist in overseeing different aspect of our projects while developing your own understanding.

The Mechanical Engineer roles and responsibilities include:

  • Report to the Building Services Manager regularly and assist in the daily running of the site.
  • Acceptance, implantation, and maintenance of the GRAHAM way of working
  • Implementation of Company Policy and Guidelines
  • Ensuring Health, Safety and Environmental legislation is adhered to through communication to GRAHAM staff and sub-contractors.
  • Regularly liaise with project stakeholders, consultants, and members of the GRAHAM project team.
  • Assist with the development the quality plan for the project.
  • Provide administrative support and information recording.
  • Support coordination between the GRAHAM team, consultants and trades.
  • Assist with the developing the strategy of project execution to meet the project targets
  • Planning and monitoring the progress of the works
  • Attendance a the weekly internal progress meeting
  • Assigning responsibility for roles and tasks necessary for the completion of the works
  • Maintenance of good industrial relations on the project
  • Other duties as directed by the Contracts Director 

Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer shall:

  • Carrying out design reviews from Pre-construction Stage for Design & Build Projects.
  • Attendance at, and chair where appropriate, meetings with the Client, the designers, specialist contractors and other team members in order to provide technical advice pertaining to MEP Services to the Graham Fit Out Project and Design Managers.
  • Assisting Graham Fit Out Site Management Teams in the management of the quality and co-ordinationof MEP installations onsite.
  • Provide technical assistance to the Graham Fit Out Site Management Teams for MEP issues that arise onsite.
  • Work with the Graham Fit Out Site Management Teams to ensure they build to suit the MEP installation
  • Provide technical assistance to the Graham Construction Site Planners for the review of the MEP Supply Chain members Technical Submissions and Requests for Information documents prior to their release to the Client for formal response.
  • Development of the Project Commissioning Plan Document
  • Review of Supply Chain Inspection and Test Plans prior to release to the Client for formal approval
  • Assist the Project Planners in conjunction with the MEP Supply Chain members with developing the MEP installation, testing and commissioning programmes for the projects ensuring that they align with the construction activities.
  • Manage the commissioning process and Client training exercises associated with the MEP installations.
  • Assist Graham Fit Out Aftercare Teams in clearing any emergent issues following project handover.

This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged for the Mechanical Electrical Engineer and the range of duties to be undertaken.

It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals.

Technical Competencies

Essential

  • Studying towards a Mechanical Engineering degree level at university or technical college
  • Demonstrate an understanding of construction management practices
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills

Desirable

  • Health & Safety Induction Including Management System CSR/SAFEPASS/CSCS Card

Our Industrial Placements last 12 months, dependent on your college/university curriculum. On your placement you will be given the support, guidance and experience which will lay the foundations for a great future in Mechanical Engineering. This includes a structured learning programme and experience in a variety of Mechanical Engineering environments.
