Team information

You will be joining our highly successfully Systems Assurance engineering area, which has been a key supplier to the Government defence departments and major Industrial Partners for over three decades. We support an extensive range services covering:

  • Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (OME)
  • Radiological protection
  • Surface ship and submarines
  • Defence facilities management
  • Airworthiness

The majority of our work is focused on providing assurance that defence systems are safe to introduce into and remain in service, in line with regulatory and legal requirements.

What you’ll be doing at Frazer-Nash?

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to grow their careers in a dynamic and supportive environment. You will support multidisciplinary projects across the business, but mainly in the Defence sector. As you grow in confidence, you will be encouraged to take on greater levels of project management and business development responsibilities. You will also have opportunities to influence the direction and growth of our assurance services.

The projects you work on, and manage, will develop your technical knowledge and understanding across a broad range of Defence assurance disciplines. This will encompass the development of safety management systems for nationally significant acquisition projects, through to helping clients manage strategic risks and opportunities associated with solutions to make lives safe, secure, sustainable, and affordable. You will work with, and learn from, colleagues from a range of technical backgrounds including engineers, project managers, economists and world leading experts in the fields of renewable technologies, nuclear energy, autonomy, space, asset management, data & cyber.

What you’ll need?

We are interested in hearing from excellent candidates who want to work in Systems/Safety Engineering. As a minimum requirement you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2:1 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. You may have relevant experience from University courses that are similar to any on the following list:

  • Safety Management
  • Marine Engineering
  • Naval Architecture
  • Ordnance, Munitions and Explosives (OME) Engineering
  • Nuclear Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • Aerospace or Aeronautical Engineering
  • General Engineering

When submitting your application we will want to see in your CV and Cover Letter details of your degree, educational background but also your working experience. We are looking to see how you are organised and methodical in your approach when meeting deadlines and managing internal and external requirements. Show us the collaborative qualities and experience you have to work in a consultancy environment.

The nature of our work means that we sometimes require staff to access Government material, it is therefore necessary for all of our employees to gain appropriate security clearance. We will apply for clearance if you have successfully been selected for a position, and we will decide if we can successfully gain full clearance on your behalf based on the content of your application. Any offer of employment is subject to this requirement being met.
