Team information:

In this role, you'll be part of our Technology Management area, helping our clients to make good decisions as they navigate the wide array of complex engineering challenges and opportunities they face.

You will use Systems Thinking to build clear and effective methods and solutions to complex and trick real world problems. Often described as working to provide our clients with clarity from uncertainty.

Each of our teams have their own flavours and niche domain experience, but all their knowhow is based around Systems Engineering principals, and they work together across a huge variety of projects, clients and sectors.

We are looking for engineers or scientists who could be responsible for:

  • Applying of systems engineering tools and techniques.
  • Delivering research and innovation projects.
  • Supporting technology horizon scanning across a variety of industries and sectors.
  • Undertaking concept studies, options assessment, and investment decisions.
  • Supporting owners and operators throughout their assets lifecycle.
  • Expanding knowledge of leading-edge technologies, through literature studies and research.
  • Supporting the development of policies and strategies.
  • Providing governance, oversight and advice on best practice and cross sector knowhow.

What you’ll be doing at Frazer-Nash?

As a Systems and Technology graduate you will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle and all aspects of our business.

You will be responsible for delivering your own technical work from day one, as part of client facing delivery teams. Furthermore, as part of helping you develop your technical and consultancy skills, you will be given the opportunity to develop proposals, bid for work, and manage projects.

Joining Frazer-Nash, you will become part of a family of passionate and dedicated consultants who are focused on delivering cutting edge solutions that exceed our clients’ expectations.

From time-to-time there will also be the opportunity to support our clients working on site either local to your office, elsewhere in the UK or perhaps even abroad. These opportunities offer the potential to experience some large and internationally important projects up close and through a new lens.

What you’ll need?

We are looking for intelligent and inquisitive individuals, who are good communicators and can solve challenging problems. We embrace diversity, innovation and collaboration at Frazer-Nash and provide the opportunity for talented people like you to work on projects that make a difference to our world.

For this position you will need:

  • To be on course to achieve a 2:1 or above.
  • Graduate in engineering, science of technology subjects such as Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics or similar disciplines.
  • An interest in and an aptitude for Systems Engineering and using a range of methods and techniques for solving complex problems.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with internal and external project stakeholders through various media (e.g. reports, presentations and meetings).
  • Organised and effective, so able to be deliver impactful work on budget and on time.

The following attributes are highly desirable for this position:

  • Experience of working in industry and/or consultancy through previous internships or year in industry schemes.
  • Final year individual/group projects which demonstrate your ability to solve complex problems and to work at a high level of quality.
  • Experience of leading teams within University projects and/or in extracurricular activities/hobbies.
