Our new intake of graduates spent the week at Outward Bound team building and learning more about United Utilities.

Our internship programmes will give you the opportunity to learn first-hand how we make this happen. Our undergraduate and graduate programmes are key to helping us support customers.

What you will do 

The role will cover Natural Capital Strategy and Planning within our Environment, Planning, and innovation directorate. 

Under the supervision of your line manager, the successful candidate will get the opportunity to take responsibility for specific projects, initiatives, and reports, supporting in developing our Catchment Systems Thinking (CaST) approach and our wider Natural Capital activities. This will give the successful candidate a real flavour of the business.

We're looking for an enthusiastic undergraduate to lead the way and help us to meet the challenges of the future. 

You'll receive a structured 3-month placement programme which will cover a variety of areas within Environment Planning and Innovation department. 

Don't worry, you won't be going it alone. Mentors and managers will work with you as you progress through your placement and support you as you work towards your personal development goals.

What we are looking for 

  • You will be aiming for or have achieved a minimum 2:1 (BSc) in Science/Environmental Sciences/Environmental Planning/Maths/Geography (or equivalent) Degree. 
  • You need to be motivated and enthusiastic, an excellent team player, possessing ambition and drive. 
  • You should possess good written and interpersonal skills and have the ability to communicate and influence across all levels. 
  • You should be comfortable working flexibly across a range of tasks and activities to deadlines, be able to prioritise your time and be proficient with Microsoft Office.
