ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
This role is part of the Hybrid-Device engineering team – working jointly alongside the CFD & PLM teams.
The unique placement opportunity would offer the student a development experience, not only in the new product development cycle, but also exposure to human-centred design of new product innovations. This is also an opportunity to take a good look at your prospective future employer and you will see your work become reality.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
Hands-on experience with software development tools, project management methodology, business analytics, quality assurance, and change management.
Support project managers in managing schedules and milestones.
Assisting with documentation and project deliverables.
Learn about Project Management and PLM Software Development, support, testing & validation.
Liaise with multiple departments, and sites, in the support of PLM software.
Building models for specific product component or assembly testing, performing CFD analysis and validating with existing data or generate new data.
Carry parametric studies using existing models and provide feedback: such as different heating profiles, puffing profiles, materials, etc.
Investigation of design concepts – both currently commercially available options, novel and emerging technical developments that show promise for future use.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or M.S. (Master’s degree) in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline (Students with interest in CFD, FEA are preferred)
Knowledge in specific areas such as Fluid Dynamics and Heat Transfer, numerical analysis, test and data acquisition.
Familiar with CAD software (Solidworks or Creo), CFD/FEA software (COMSOL, ANSYS), MATLAB, PDM or PLM software
Good investigative mind, capable of investigating complex issues, defining and building own test set ups
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, to internal as well as those external parties to the organisation
Interested in IT, technology, and project management.
Deliver the technical solution as needed.
Some SQL knowledge would be useful.
