We offer 10-week internships during the summer with a start date of early July for Undergraduates, Graduates and PhD students. Collaborate with our leading research and technology team and your fellow interns, and contribute to meaningful projects where your results will make a real impact.

As an OxFORD intern you can expect to work within a great team, learn different approaches to solve complex problems, and see the results of your work make a meaningful difference. You will be rewarded with excellent pay, and a summer full of activities.

PhD Internship

Working with our own specialists, you will use your specific scientific knowledge to build a significant prototype of a genuine advancement in our internal technology, while embedded in one of our research teams working on alpha generation, short-term execution, portfolio construction or risk modelling. Past projects include neural network risk models, non-convex portfolio optimisation and machine learning for order book forecasting.

Desirable Experience: Python and its scientific libraries, optimisation, machine learning, dealing with large or complex data sets and a proven ability to deliver proof-of-concept projects with evidence-based assessments.


  • £1,250/week for Undergraduates and Masters Students

  • £1,500/week for PhD/DPhil Students

Mentoring structure

You’ll have an assigned mentor who will guide you through your project for the 10 weeks you are with us. You’ll have regular catch-ups, and they’ll be there to support you throughout your project. You’ll also get in-depth overviews from different members of the team about what we do and how we approach problem-solving.


You will be invited to join all OxFORD group events, and we also host specific intern activities. Events in the past have included; a wine and cycle tour, crazy golf, escape rooms, and private tours of the Ashmolean Museum. We host lunches and drinks, as well as one-on-one career development sessions with team leaders.


A collaborative and collegiate environment. We come from a wide range of backgrounds and countries, where everyone is welcome. We come to work in jeans, not suits.

Permanent Role

Every intern is eligible to be considered for a permanent role at OxFORD. Each year, we have new joiners who started their careers as OxFORD interns.
