Gradcracker works here's the proof
We offer 10-week internships during the summer with a start date of early July for Undergraduates, Graduates and PhD students. Collaborate with our leading research and technology team and your fellow interns, and contribute to meaningful projects where your results will make a real impact.
As an OxFORD intern you can expect to work within a great team, learn different approaches to solve complex problems, and see the results of your work make a meaningful difference. You will be rewarded with excellent pay, and a summer full of activities.
You will work with our analysts and researchers helping them tackle problems in areas such as signal processing, optimisation, data science, and machine learning, to uncover relationships between a variety of data sources and tradable financial instruments. You will run strategies in our realistic backtesting environment and if suitable, your work may be passed onto our live systems where you can see your work in action. Past projects include modelling impact of trading on live markets, studying information propagation through company supply chain data, and investigating how web traffic data can predict company stock returns.
Desired experience: Python and its scientific libraries, statistics and probability, numerical analysis, data and timeseries analysis, optimisation and machine learning.
You’ll have an assigned mentor who will guide you through your project for the 10 weeks you are with us. You’ll have regular catch-ups, and they’ll be there to support you throughout your project. You’ll also get in-depth overviews from different members of the team about what we do and how we approach problem-solving.
You will be invited to join all OxFORD group events, and we also host specific intern activities. Events in the past have included; a wine and cycle tour, crazy golf, escape rooms, and private tours of the Ashmolean Museum. We host lunches and drinks, as well as one-on-one career development sessions with team leaders.
A collaborative and collegiate environment. We come from a wide range of backgrounds and countries, where everyone is welcome. We come to work in jeans, not suits.
Every intern is eligible to be considered for a permanent role at OxFORD. Each year, we have new joiners who started their careers as OxFORD interns.
