At the FCA, we help to protect financial consumers and make markets work well by regulating the conduct of over 59,000 businesses. Our ambition is to become a more innovative, more assertive and more adaptive regulator; one that fully capitalises on data and technology, ensures consumer protection and market integrity, and responds well to the challenges we face. We’re looking for bright, enthusiastic and values driven graduates to join our diverse and highly capable teams across the FCA.

FCA Graduate Programme: Charlotte's story

Find out more about our graduate programme!

Enforcement investigates and takes action against UK businesses and individuals where there is a suspicion that serious misconduct or a criminal offence has been committed. The division handles a range of cases such as those involving anti-money laundering, product mis-selling and market abuse. We also take criminal prosecutions against scams that fall within our regulatory remit.

You’ll work on a variety of projects on this programme and will have the opportunity to help shape the opening of an investigation. Every day will be different, and the work that you do will be challenging and interesting. Investigatory interviews, evidence gathering and contributing to cases are just some of the experiences that will help you develop the skills of a forensic investigator.

Our Enforcement programme can set you up for a career that has a real impact, as you develop your understanding of the market, the behaviours of consumer victims and the extent of the FCA’s powers to take action where we see potential misconduct.

Learning & Development

As a graduate in Enforcement, you’ll complete your training pathway through our Investigatory Academy, which will equip you with all the skills you need to succeed. During your two-year programme, you could also work your way towards achieving an Anti-Money Laundering Diploma and becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst. We’re committed to supporting you in your career development.

What we look for

We value diversity of thought and therefore welcome applications from graduates with all types of degrees. We look for people who have great analytical skills, an ability to build strong relationships and are brilliant communicators, both in person and in writing.

Conscientious and collaborative, you’ll be technically minded, organised and will align to our organisational values. Learning on the job is a natural part of this programme, so we don't expect you to have a detailed knowledge of regulatory matters, though an interest in the UK regulatory system would be beneficial.
