To continue with our growth plans for 2023 and beyond we are searching for Site Engineer Graduate to join our Professional Development Programme for our autumn 2023 intake, based in Peterborough for our @one Alliance.   

The @one Alliance is a collaborative organisation of consultants and contractors working together to deliver more than half of Anglian Waters capital investment programme.

What will you be doing as our new Site Engineer Graduate?

As our new Site Engineer Graduate, you’ll be supported and guided from experienced engineers and site professionals as you work in collaboration with other disciplines to ensure our designs and solutions are correctly interested and built on site. You’ll learn and adopt industry leading approaches practiced by the @one Alliance Delivery team.

Leading our teams towards safety, quality and project targets on a consistent basis, you’ll always working with transparency and integrity, you’ll lead by example whilst ensuring we strive towards our outperformance targets.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensure work carried out meets @one alliance and statutory legal requirements via a range of activities including site inspections, reviewing method statements and risk assessments and delivering toolbox talks
  • Setting out on site, ensuring the construction and installation teams understand what is required and fulfil specifications
  • Management of quality on site, including inspections, reports
  • Working alongside our site managers to ensure the safe delivery of our works.
  • Encourage and promote near miss reporting ensuring close outs delivered and fed back to site manager and operatives
  • Champion a ‘Get it right first time’ mentality; Check quality of finished products delivered by teams ensuring product is completed to a high standard
  • Order and manage hired internal and external equipment on a daily basis to optimise performance and reduce costs
  • Responsibility for consistently high-quality work and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the team
  • Support the team in the drive towards excellence in Health & Safety, demonstrating applied knowledge & skills.
  • Proactively and reactively champion the need to deliver technical excellence ensuring the importance is understood and implemented across projects.

To join our team in our quest to remain an industry- leading alliance by pushing boundaries of innovation, you’ll be educated to degree level in engineering/construction related subject and have a keen passion to pursue a career in Construction.

You’ll demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills and be comfortable using IT software and packages on a daily basis to complete required site administration, you’ll demonstrate proven problem-solving skills by embracing new technologies and ways of working.

About You

Qualifications

  • A degree in Engineering/Construction related subject.
  • Successful candidates will need to be flexible and willing to spend time in other offices and sites. This is to gain a full understanding of new projects and different clients, which will provide fresh experiences and support your development.
  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal are essential, and you must be able to work well within a team and independently. You will be self – motivated, flexible and reliable with good problem-solving skills.
  • You will also have a strong client service focus and excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task. Excellent computer skills and a good understanding of Microsoft Office are essential.
