Polypipe has an exciting opportunity to join our Polypipe Graduate Scheme, training and developing skills in product management, based in Aylesford. We are happy to accept applicants who graduated in 2017 so the role will start with immediate effect.

We are offering a world-class graduate scheme that incorporates a 3-year programme of structured training and mentoring within specifically chosen roles designed to develop you into a successful career in Polypipe.

Traditional build methods can often result in constraints within the design of projects.

What you can expect from the programme:

  • A structured programme across 3 years to give a broad knowledge of commercial functions across the wider Polypipe business with senior mentors to guide you through the process
  • Experience in project management
  • Supportive environment through mentoring and an inclusive cohort approach
  • Management training.

The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, qualifications and values:

  • 2:1 minimum, MSc/MEng desirable, in an engineering or product management discipline
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels, and a team player
  • Ability to network and build professional relationships
  • Excellent numerical, literacy and analytical skills
  • Flexible (some travel will be required in order to fulfil all elements of the training; both in the UK and overseas - transport will be covered)
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, forward-thinking with good commercial acumen
  • Conscientious, committed and ambitious with a 'can do', 'will do' approach and drive to succeed
  • Demonstrable IT literacy including advanced skillset across the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Driving licence.

Following successful completion of the programme the candidate will continue to be developed within the marketing department progressing within product management. The product management team is responsible for the product management of our building services product categories. Working closely with various departments in the business, they set and implement product portfolio strategies, regularly review product lifecycles, work with R&D/Manufacturing to develop new products and devise pricing/margin strategies to maximise return for the business. By regularly researching the market and its competitors the team ensures we stay ahead of the market and provide customer insight to aid business strategy and communication.

Key accountabilities will include market research, product lifecycle management, working closely with the commercial team, devising product strategies, and developing new products.
