You will be involved in the design of logistics processes and logistic solutions to optimise inventories, reduce costs and speed up deliveries to satisfy our customer demands. Put simply, we need to ensure that we deliver the right products, at the right time, at the right cost to the required quality. As a key member of our team, you'll help us deliver just that. You'll gain invaluable skills and experience, covering all aspects of Logistics and Supply Chain including:

  • Procurement
  • Logistics
  • Distribution
  • Inventory/Demand Planning
  • Operations Management.

You could be liaising with suppliers, using our IFS software system to control manufacturing and delivery process, engaging in order management, assisting with tender proposals and reviews, customer negotiations, cost and inventory reduction activities or logistics support. The work undertaken will be challenging and business critical, giving you exposure to different areas of the business and contact with senior stakeholders in the company.

Your first six months will see you based at our Doncaster, but you will spend time in all our UK business Units in the first 12 Months which are listed below.

  • Building Products - Doncaster
  • Civils - Loughborough and Horncastle
  • Building Services - Aylesford
  • Sure Stop - Birmingham
  • Nuaire - Caerphilly

Then, catch your breath and settle back into your preferred Business Unit whilst undertaking a 12-month Management Development Leadership Programme, working in an assigned role. During your third and final year you will be set a continuous improvement project, using the learning you have been given. You will take responsibility for your own projects to further improve our supply chain performance or/and save costs

Our graduate scheme is world-class, a structure training and mentoring programme will be underway from the start to ensure your transition into Polypipe is smooth and successful.

Year 1
Your first 6 months, full induction into your selected business function. the graduate programme will be tailored to suit your needs. Second six months, secondment plan to broaden breath of Company and group understanding. Secondment Programme developed taking your preferences into account.

Year 2
Return to you selected business function embark on Leadership Management top up Qualification, whilst undertaking functional duties.

Year 3
Project-driven initiative (back within Group business), inclusive of Project Training

Year 4
Permanent Placement (Guaranteed within group). Your Career path may take you into one of several functional areas including, New product Development, Product Management, Quality, Engineering, Technical, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, Finance, HR, Health and safety or even Mergers and Acquisitions.

Necessary qualifications and personal skills:

  • Graduated within the last 12 months (or due to graduate this Summer) with a minimum 2:1 or above in a Supply Chain, Logistics or closely related degree subject
  • A motivation and alignment to the programme you are applying for, with an ability to explain why you want to progress in that area
  • Excellent influencing and interpersonal skills (Emotionally Intelligent)
  • Process-driven, organised and disciplined
  • Ability to learn fast the ins & outs of the commercial business
  • Strong analytical thinking as well as problem solving skills and sense of costs awareness
  • Initiative, self-starter approach, and strong communications skills
  • Good team player with a challenger mentality.
