We have customers across a number of sectors including power generation (coal, gas, oil, nuclear, hydro), oil and gas, industrial and process. You will immediately be set to work on challenging technical projects that matter to our customers. The work centres on electrical power systems, electronic controllers, software and data analysis and involves the design, construction, commissioning and testing of hardware and software systems in our small lab/workshop and on customer sites. You will work closely within our team of experts and you will be fully supported and encouraged to take on significant responsibilities.
You will be involved in many aspects of design, maintenance and commissioning of excitation control, generator protection and synchronising systems.
Day-to-day, you could find yourself interpreting excitation system performance data during commissioning and maintenance of excitation equipment. You will also have the opportunity to provide technical support to our customers over the phone and on site using a mixture of electrical engineering competence and practical skills.
You'll be attending training courses and conferences to develop and improve technical competence in the specialist areas that EES operates. As well as providing feedback to the business to drive continuous improvement, you will need to manage your own work load, prioritise and operate efficiently to meet customer deadlines.

You will have an expected 2:1 (or above) degree in one of the following: Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering, Control & Instrumentation, Hardware, Software, Systems. You will also have an interest in, or experience of, electrical power systems and controls, as well as good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills.
