The Financial Modelling Group (FMG) is responsible for researching, designing and implementing the quantitative models used to assess financial risk across fixed income, derivatives, equities and multi-asset products. We work closely with the Portfolio Analytics Group to deliver analytical insights to investment and risk professionals both within BlackRock and at Aladdin clients.

As an analyst you will

  • Implement new & improved financial models in Aladdin’s code base
  • Contribute to high-profile projects that advance BlackRock’s top strategic priorities
  • Solve clients’ needs by debugging production issues and engineering more scalable, resilient solutions
  • Explain complex models to non-technical end users
  • Learn finance while doing engineering.

Job description

This programme is for candidates in their final year of study and obtaining their bachelor’s degree or their master’s degree with less than 18 months' relevant full-time work experience.

The Analyst Programme is a two-year programme designed to acclimate and train new hires. It also provides the foundation for core professional skills that will allow them to succeed in their roles and begin building their peer networks. The programme begins with a Global Analyst orientation in New York which helps to build a knowledge base, prepares analysts for their role at BlackRock and creates a peer network.

Analysts will hear from a number of senior leaders and market experts on a variety of topics including business fundamentals, BlackRock’s culture, strategic priorities, and leadership principles. You will participate in activities that will illustrate the importance of diversity, professionalism and what it means to be a fiduciary as well as having more role-specific training.
