Centrica is a leading FTSE 250 energy, services, and solutions company. We keep millions of homes and businesses running and work hard to support the changing needs of our customers.
A chance to spend your university placement year gaining a rich array of consumer and commercial analyst experiences with a FTSE 250 and leading energy and services supplier.
What you'll be doing
At Centrica, we keep millions of homes and businesses running and work hard to support the changing needs of our customers. To ensure our strategy remains adaptive and successful, we need to engage in a wide range of sophisticated analytical activity to understand customer decision making.
As a Commercial Analyst YINI, you will take on a year-long placement, which could range all the way from customer insight, to highly technical positions, to analytical roles in some of the most innovative areas of our business. From evaluating Hive customer behaviour in highly competitive retail markets, to predicting how much energy our British Gas consumers will need in the future, to developing strategies which influence Centrica’s direction within the UK’s renewable energy and services market. This placement will give you the experience you need to get your career on the right track and prepare you for graduate life.
You’ll be stretched and challenged throughout the programme, as you work with diverse data sets and get to grips with industry-leading analytics and customer insight tools. There will be lots of opportunities for you to learn along the way, not just through formal training sessions, but also from the more experienced analysts working alongside you. Throughout your year at Centrica you will be constantly developing your interpersonal skillset with transferrable learnings such as stakeholder management and presentation styles that you can carry with you throughout your career. There will be a broad support network available, to ensure you are getting the most out of every placement, including a mentor scheme and graduate buddy scheme.
The programme will take a lot of hard work and initiative on your part. In return you’ll get to develop career-boosting skills and could earn yourself a place on our 2024 Graduate programme, following your final year of university, if you really stand out from the crowd.
Under graduates preferably from a STEM or analytical background who have a very strong interest in applying analytical techniques to develop a deep understanding of customer needs and behaviours.
