The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a temporary role within the Processing and Testing Team, part of the Laminating, Processing and Manufacturing Group located at the NSG European Technical Centre.

The team are responsible for the development and testing of new glass products for the architectural and automotive strategic business units. The role will have particular focus on the development of laminated products for the architectural market.

The successful applicant will be expected to integrate into existing product development projects and contribute to the planning and execution of objectives to successfully bring products to market.

The role will involve responsibility for trial planning, sample manufacture and functional analysis of product performance along with creation of summary reports to support the project team.

Specialist instruments and dedicated test equipment will be used, with full training to be provided where necessary. Process development and production trials on manufacturing sites may also be required, with travel for this typically one week or less in duration.

The successful candidate will also be expected to demonstrate a visible commitment to safety, quality, and ethical behaviour.

  • Science or engineering background
  • Ability to operate test equipment or related experience
  • Able to learn quickly and act independently
  • Focus data analysis without getting lost in the details
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • Able to interact with a range of interdisciplinary departments


  • 37 1/2 hour per week

A full UK driving licence and car ownership would be an advantage due to limited public transport to the site.
