Where the STEM jobs are
Gradcracker works here's the proof
"Through hands-on experience, various training sessions and site visits to other Multiplex projects, the graduate programme is a great way to prepare us for what we will need to carry out our day-to-day roles."
Interacting with a wide variety of people and overcoming different challenges within the workplace has developed my communication, time management and problem-solving skills.
The people I work with at Multiplex are very welcoming, supportive and easy to get on with. Also, there are regular events to meet everyone from across the business.
Multiplex is supporting my long-term career by supplying various training sessions to develop our skills. They also provide sponsorship to allow you to get chartered in your relevant discipline.
My role as a graduate construction manager involves preventing delays and clashes between trades to allow the project to progress and meet the crucial handover date with the quality of works we expect. My role also helps everyone get home safe, by monitoring and implementing safe systems of work within the areas I manage.
As part of the graduate programme, we got to go to Constructionarium, where we constructed a bridge as a team. This was great fun and helped me gain an appreciation for what the trades deal with on a day-to-day basis.
I chose to work for Multiplex because I wanted to work on some of the most iconic and challenging projects in London (and potentially across the world). I also got the feeling Multiplex really values its employees, which I can now happily agree with.
I see myself continuing to develop my knowledge and keep pushing to progress within the company to gain a higher level of responsibility and ownership of a project.
I am a graduate construction manager at 100 Bishopsgate. I am looking after the top three floors of building, which houses a lot of the plant and equipment required to operate the building once handed over.
Taking ownership of my area of work has to be my greatest achievement so far. Being given the opportunity, trust and responsibility to run the roof has allowed me to get stuck in and really get to know the ins and outs of what it takes to build a high-rise.
