In a year that will stretch your experience beyond the classroom, early responsibility and purpose will be yours as you gain a head start in your career. Working with a variety of clients and surrounded by talented minds who will help you succeed, our Industrial Placement is your chance to move ahead.

As one of the UK’s largest accountancy and business advisory firms, we’re proud to work with a wide range of clients, from entrepreneurial enterprises to multinational groups, and we take the same pride in growing your career. With us, you’ll get plenty of opportunities to develop your skills in areas that include audit, tax advice, risk management, forensic accounting, business restructuring and corporate finance. But it’s the people you’ll meet who will really help you succeed.

BDO Graduates

"There's a lot of on the job training. And the idea of being able to go to a multi-million pound business, and try and understand it from the ground up, especially as a trainee, is actually really exciting!"

Here, you can be yourself, share ideas, and know you’ll be respected and valued for your contribution. You can have confidence that you are part of an organisation with purpose, where you’ll have variety and opportunity to build your career path alongside people who will help you achieve your goals.

We work from 17 locations across the UK, but we’re not just a UK business. We’re also a member of BDO International, which means you’ll be exposed to clients worldwide and be part of our global network across 162 countries.

We’ll help you succeed

Our 12-month Industrial Placement Programme starts in July and will help you gain invaluable knowledge and skills and gain exposure to BDO and our people, which could lead to an offer of a graduate role.

During your programme, you’ll have the opportunity to explore some of the different specialisms within your stream and contribute to a range of client projects as part of the team. This will allow you to expand your portfolio of skills and experience a breadth of opportunity to increase your future options and build a platform to develop your career. Alongside extensive training, you’ll also have the opportunity to build your network with peers and colleagues for when you return after university.

The Business Services and Outsourcing (BSO) team are essential to meeting our clients' changing needs. As well as delivering long-term, sustainable value to businesses by providing solutions such as accounting, payroll and compliance services, they also play a key role in helping our teams around the world collaborate. The team helps international clients manage their accounting needs by drawing on BDO’s expertise and investing in processes, systems and people to solve a huge range of challenges. The programme offers the opportunity to develop in one of the industry’s most exciting and varied roles. If you can show initiative and the potential for exceptional problem-solving skills, you’ll gain a unique insight into how business works across the world.
