Our vision at Tesco is to become every customer's favourite way to shop, whether they are at home or out on the move. Our core purpose is ‘Serving our customers, communities and planet a little better every day’. Serving means more than a transactional relationship with our customers. It means acting as a responsible and sustainable business for all stakeholders, for the communities we are part of and for the planet.
We are proud to have an inclusive culture at Tesco where everyone truly feels able to be themselves. At Tesco, we not only celebrate diversity, but recognise the value and opportunity it brings. We're committed to creating a workplace where differences are valued, and make sure that all colleagues are given the same opportunities. We're a big business with diverse working patterns and many business areas which means that we can find something that works for you. Everyone is welcome at Tesco.
NOTE: Should you be successful in your application, your offer will be subject to and conditional upon you providing your bank account details, and evidence of right to work for the duration of the programme on your agreed start date.
Our software engineers continue to lead the way, building technology that can have a real impact on our customers. Our Technology Software Engineering programme will give you exposure to a selection of the latest technologies. It aims to equip you with the right knowledge and skills to become one of our future engineering leaders.
You’ll be able to bring your knowledge and experience to life, helping us to better serve our customers. We’ll also show you how to architect some of the most complex and ambitious software systems being built. Using agile principles, you’ll learn how to protect customer data, how to automate and how to build large scale systems.
You’ll experience the breadth of software engineering with the opportunity to spend time in several teams, including our front and back end development teams as well as a placement in Tesco Labs too. You’ll be paired with other engineers in your team and work closely with your product managers to build software for either our customers or colleagues.
We’re looking for graduates with a passion for technology. It’s not vital you have a degree in computer science, but you must be able to demonstrate your ability to write quality coding. We’re looking for logical problem solvers who are keen to learn and build their skills, and who enjoy the challenge of working with something new.
We offer excellent benefits that help make Tesco a great place to work! These include but aren’t limited to:
We've signed the Gradcracker feedback pledge.
(This means that we will supply feedback if requested after an interview.)
