Why watch from the sidelines when you can be at the centre of real work? Tell us your interests and seat preferences so we can tailor the experience to you, and with a Trainee buddy, you’ll work with our experts; taking on real work for real clients.
Available to those who have completed our Vacation Scheme, this programme offers four sixth-month seats to Trainees – giving you the opportunity to develop the skills needed to become a successful lawyer. We want our Trainee Associates to grow into the Herbert Smith Freehills Partners of the future, and aim to keep on as many of our trainees as possible on qualification.
Roger Leyland worked at Herbert Smith Freehills and was the first Black Partner at a leading City firm. He was committed to the development of young lawyers and in his memory, we founded the Roger Leyland Memorial Scholarship to give talented Black and ethnic minority students the financial support and work experience to achieve their ambition.
