Our Graduate Development Programme provides the environment where new graduates can rapidly develop the skills and knowledge required to perform their role at a high level of competence and confidence.
The aim is to develop highly effective people for future leadership roles.
New graduates undertake a two year programme, usually, consisting of three areas.
Graduates undertake 14 days of formal training at different stages throughout the scheme, focusing on both personal and commercial skills development.
Graduates complete a number of placements over the duration of the scheme. Placements are identified according to business needs and allocated to allow graduates to develop a rounded view of the company.
Placements and projects are designed to help the graduate understand the full operations of the business and each placement will build on the previous placement in both complexity and responsibility.
Each graduate is assigned a mentor who can provide guidance and advice, throughout the programme. This is normally a highly experienced Senior Manager within the business who will be independent from line management.
The mentor's role is to help a graduate develop potential and act as a go-to-person outside of line management to give an experienced ear. Continuing Professional Development is encouraged throughout the programme in addition to the residential training. This is made available through internal and external training courses and professional qualifications.
Each graduate is encouraged to keep a learning log where they can record all their training and experience as evidence of their learning.
