We work closely to not only anticipate, understand and satisfy our customers' needs, but also provide the inspiration that can help them achieve greater success.
Our products are sold mainly to industry, forming part of other people's products. They help to make them work, to make them successful and to become the ‘household names’ that play such an important part in all our lives. You won’t find our name in the high street but you are likely to come into contact with many of our products on a daily basis.
In 38 countries, our 5,600 plus employees are split across three core business sectors: Consumer Care, Life Sciences (made up of Crop Care and Health Care) and Performance Technologies (made up of Coatings and Polymers, Geo Technologies, Home care, Lubricants and Polymer Additives). We also have an Industrial Chemicals business area.
We are committed to sustainable innovation that is applied to all aspects of our business, through the ingredients we make and the way we operate to the natural, renewable materials we use.
We believe in enabling our graduates to reach their full potential through development and training and we are committed to providing an environment that encourages continuous development and training in which you will quickly understand the key values and skill sets required for progression.
On any of our graduate programmes you will be given responsibility from an early stage and you will complete a number of placements during the scheme at any of our sites in mainland Europe.
As a Croda graduate, you will need to combine practical and strategic skills with imagination. In return we can offer you early responsibility and a high degree of motivation and satisfaction – in short, real experiences, real responsibilities and real jobs. We recruit science and engineering graduates each year for our two/three year graduate programmes and will place you in one of our UK or European divisions. Normally our programmes include 2 – 3 rotational placements to allow you to gain a good grounding within our business.
As we offer a number of roles across Europe, European language skills are highly desirable in Croda graduates. Languages include French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch and German.
Opportunities are available across the following programmes:
Engineering Development Programme
You will be involved in all aspects of the profession, ranging from basic research to plant commissioning. You will manage projects from the outset and be expected to accept responsibility quickly. Engineering, project management, production or more general site management roles are open to you. For this programme you will need a Chemical, Process Engineering or Instrumentation and Control degree.
Graduate Development Programme
A great general overview of the business. We will tailor the programme to suit you but each graduate will complete three placements across our business functions (sales, marketing, technical, operations and business functions, for example safety or regulatory affairs). For this programme you will need a Chemical Engineering or Chemistry related degree.
Technical Development Programme
This programme is for those graduates who are keen to develop their career within a laboratory environment. Scientists will be given immediate project responsibilities within each placement. From this foundation you may progress within the technical or production teams. For this programme you will need a Chemistry related degree.
Challenging work experiences and appropriate training form the basis for developing your career with Croda. We design opportunities to suit individual needs; how you apply that knowledge is then your responsibility with encouragement and support from the company as you will be driving your own career from day one.
Croda’s development initiatives are designed to combine the intellectual rigours of academic life with the skills required in business.
Our programmes include residential training which takes place over five modules and is completed during the first two years of your employment with Croda. You will cover topics such as personal effectiveness, communication, influencing people, teamwork, meeting skills and managing change. You’ll go through this as a graduate year group which provides the opportunity to develop a network of people you can stay in touch with as you move through the business.
