Project Assistant: Manufacturing Engineer: Process Optimisation

The role involves critical investigation of key data flows to improved visibility and productivity in the end to end process at MH Development Engineering.

Duties and responsibilities

The intern will lead a project to improve the companies use of data related to orders, their status and the information needed to complete them. This will include documenting the existing processes in detail and capturing the information requirements that will allow the business to have up to date information when making decisions. Main activities will include:

• Understanding and documenting the current data flows and systems utilised within the business
• Identify key requirements for data capture and information presentation
• Reviewing cloud based software solutions
• Piloting proposed solution
• Recommending next steps.

Skills and experience

Essential

• Educated to, or working towards a relevant manufacturing or computer science degree (or equivalent) with a good understanding of business
• Analytical thinker with a practical approach to problem solving
• Ability to be flexible to work in different environments
• Knowledge of business tools such as process mapping, data collection, solution generation and cloud based approaches
• Organised and highly motivated with a focus on results
• Confident communicator, able to effectively communicate with staff at all levels.

Desirable

• Experience of cloud based software applicable to manufacturing 
• Willingness to learn and explore new areas
