Achieve your career goals on our apprentice programme

On our 4-year programme you’ll receive tailored on-the-job training from industry experts from day one combined with early responsibility to help you to develop and progress.

You’ll be working towards a Bachelors’s degree (BSc) in Supply Chain Management. This programme is taught through block based or blended distance learning.

If you are offered a role; you will have a buddy or a mentor who will help you to prepare for joining GSK and will be there to offer support and guidance throughout your apprenticeship.

Working with both your line and programme manager we want to identify the right opportunities to help you succeed in the short term and throughout your career with us. 

What will you do?

You will be part of the Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) Logistics team based at our UK R&D Hub in Stevenage, which is the heart of innovation, discovering and developing differentiated, high-quality and needed medicines that are bringing transformational benefit to patients.

Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) Logistics is a component of Supply Chain Operations which is a broad and fast-moving field supporting labelling, global logistics, capacity planning, demand forecasting, patient supply coordination and clinical site onboarding.

CGT Logistics Scientists blend experience and knowledge from a wide range of fields and organisations, and continuously seek to expand their range of supply chain and technical skills.

Your duties might include:

  • Supporting the scheduling and oversight of time critical shipments
  • Ensuring appropriate actions are taken to resolve issues during shipments
  • Measuring and monitoring Logistics Provider performance
  • Supporting shipping lane mapping and risk management
  • Contributing to continuous improvement projects to drive high performance and efficiency within our global supply chains
  • Developing shipment packaging solutions

You’ll be excited by the thought of:

  • Building a range of skills and scientific knowledge in an R&D setting
  • Contribute to the discovery and development of new medicines that bring transformational benefits to our patients
  • Working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Learning how to prioritise and manage projects, objectives and deadlines with high attention to detail.
  • Studying towards your Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Supply Chain Management

Education required:

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent at grades 9-5 (A*-C) including English Language (not Literature), Science and Maths
  • To have achieved or be predicted to achieve a minimum of 96 UCAS points from your top 3 A-Levels (or equivalent) not including General Studies
