Whatever the role, you will experience working in a fast-paced research environment with access to cutting edge technology, whilst interacting with industry-leading scientists across multiple disciplines and sharing different experiences. During the internship, you will be supported and given training (laboratory and office practices, where applicable) until confident to work independently - with a focus on GSK health and safety requirements. You will be enrolled in GSK internal courses to develop your knowledge of company policy and for your personal development including opportunities to attend seminars led by GSK scientists and networking opportunities.
Role 1: Process Analytical Technology Scientist
The Process Analytical Technology (PAT) Scientist will employ: in depth knowledge and understanding of process analytical technology, chemometric modelling of complex data sets collected using PAT. They will also have a good understanding and experience of Drug Product unit operations to support the development, scale-up and manufacture of drug products in development and during product lifecycle management. Application of a PAT perspective to drive Process Understanding, Capability and Control improvement projects to support the site strategy, delivering safe, compliant and robust operations.
Role 2: Process Engineer
The Process Engineer will apply knowledge on unit operations, process engineering and modelling to support the development, scale-up and manufacture of drug products in development and during product lifecycle management; The placement enables the student to drive process understanding, capability and control improvement projects to support the site strategy, delivering safe, compliant and robust operations; The successful candidate will have to chance to work collaboratively in order to ensure optimised and thoroughly understood drug product manufacturing platforms are in place across lab, pilot and commercial scale.
