Data Science is a broad and fast-moving field spanning maths and statistics, software engineering and communications. Data Scientists blend experience and knowledge from a wide range of fields and organisations, and continuously seek to expand their range of technical skills.
We offer two Data Science apprentice roles so when you apply you will be able to select your preference of where you would like to be placed if successful.
As a Data Science Apprentice, you could be joining GSK within our Clinical Supply Chain team in Ware, or our Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) Data Strategy & Governance team in Stevenage.
In Chemistry, Manufacturing, and Controls (CMC) we are on a digital data & analytics journey to accelerate the way we develop new medicines for patients and make our data FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) for scientists. Our Data Science apprentices, based at Stevenage, are central to our strategy, supporting us to build our foundational capabilities of data models, data standards and data governance that underpin our ambitions.
In Clinical Supply Chain, our Data Science competencies are quite diverse and range from data engineering using databases and the cloud, python programming, statistical analysis and data visualisation using Power BI and Spotfire.
As a Data Science apprentice, you will be based at Ware and you will be working on bringing analysis, automation, data visualisation and actionable insights to support Clinical Studies and ensure GSK patients get the right medicine at the right time. It is a great opportunity for an apprentice to gain experience in applying data science and machine learning in the pharmaceutical supply chain space.
