We are all about making a difference.
RSSB supports the rail industry to deliver a better, safer railway. We manage a research programme; collect, collate, and analyse data; and develop standards for the railway across Great Britain.
We deliver standards, information and guidance for all aspects of railway operations, as well as health and wellbeing, sustainability, infrastructure and rolling stock asset integrity, customer satisfaction, performance, and safety.
Through our Affiliation programme we also make some of that information and guidance available to overseas organisations and other industries.
Our 3-year structured graduate programme will be made up of internal and external placements allowing you to gain experience and exposure to a range of areas and projects within the Rail industry. The structured graduate programme will see you work with industry leaders to build technical skills, business knowledge and core soft skills with the vision to become one of our future leaders.
You will be trusted with high level responsibility and client interaction as you work on innovative, exciting, and challenging projects.
We will support you every step of the way with continuous feedback, leading training and regular coaching and mentoring as part of your personal development. Our training does not stop there, the framework is designed to develop your early career and work towards a professional qualification during your scheme.
As a Graduate Engineer, you’ll closely work with our experienced team members on standards that consider the interfaces between the structural subsystems of the railways and the people that interact with them, such as signallers, drivers, guards and trackworkers. You will also support research projects and facilitate industry collaboration and consensus.
Please note: this graduate programme will involve travel in relation to placements and training opportunities.
We offer a competitive benefits package to ensure our staff can achieve their best throughout their journey with us. This includes a competitive salary of £29,000, 30 days' annual leave (plus bank holidays); a holiday buy and sell scheme; private medical and dental cover; a season ticket loan and travel subsidy; access to a cycle to work scheme; volunteer leave; a performance related bonus and pension.
