As a Technology team we are driving a transformation of the services, solutions and infrastructure which power the Go City website, apps and passes. We are building a platform for innovation, driven by data to provide fantastic experiences to customers, partners and colleagues alike.

What’s in it for you?

An opportunity to explore and experiment with an expansive set of technologies, across three rotations over a 20 month period, starting in September 2023. Alongside delivering great value within your team, you will also have dedicated time and resources to drive your own personal development.

We want you to get involved in contributing to Go City’s success but we will also make time and space for you to develop your skills on other engineering projects too. 
You will be embedded within an engineering community of over 40 teammates who are passionate about improving ourselves, as well as our projects, through communities of practice. We also like to have fun along the way, with regular team socials and cross-team hackathons.

What will you learn?

At Go City we have teams covering a wide range of disciplines, each with experienced engineers to support your learning and development. With the rotations of the graduate scheme you will get to choose your own path; whether it’s making changes to our websites or apps in the hands of millions of customers, building new microservices which form the beating heart of our operation or empowering all of our dev teams with a modern, scalable and robust infrastructure.

Here is a sample of the technologies we are currently using:

  • Kubernetes, Docker, Helm
  • Java, Spring, Kafka
  •  Kotlin, Swift
  • React, Next.js
  • MongoDB, MySQL, Redis
  • Selenium, Cypress, Gatling, PACT

Who are you/what do you have?

Essential:

  • You are studying towards or have recently achieved a higher educational qualification in a STEM subject (or equivalent).
  • Good problem-solving skills with an eye for detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Highly flexible thinker.
  • Enjoy working in a rapidly changing environment with a range of challenges.

Desirable:

  • Programming experience with at least one modern language.
  • Computer Science fundamentals - experience in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.

Where you’ll work

We are committed to a partial return to the office and that means we work in a hybrid fashion. At the moment that looks like 2/3 days per week but as our teams are all flexible, we would expect that from you too. You will be based in our Soho Square London office, with a blend of working from home and within the office under the new hybrid model that we have adopted. Usual perks that we don’t think of as benefits include fresh fruit/coffee/drinks/pizza on a Thursday.
