Ametek, Inc. is a $5B global diversified manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices with 150 operating locations in 30 countries enabled by ~18,000 colleagues worldwide. 

Job Description 

Developing, maintaining, administering, and supporting Taylor Hobson business applications, systems, and databases. These consist of but are not limited to:

  • Web Applications: Technologies used to develop our core web applications include HTML 5.0, JavaScript, ASP.Net MVC, VB.Net/C# and Sql Server 2012/2014.  Our data driven web applications are currently hosted in a Microsoft SharePoint based Intranet.
  • Data Management:  Taylor Hobson maintains numerous SQL Server and Access databases. Jet Enterprise and SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) are currently used to develop the essential Business Intelligence required for the business. The successful candidate may also get the opportunity to gain marketable skills in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)
  • CRM Support.  Taylor Hobson will be rolling out a new CRM system in 2022.  The successful candidate will be given hands on training in supporting the CRM system with our global user base, and the opportunity to develop their customer focused skills.
  • Advancing the progression of current IT projects.
  • Aiding in general IT tasks
  • Adding value to the Business Applications Team and IT department
  • Create Training How-To Videos for users

EDUCATION – Two years completed of a recognised IT degree course which includes both a programming and database element and requires a year out placement as part of the final degree assessment.  Good standard of education to at least ‘A’ level or equivalent plus English (language) and Mathematics to at least GCSE (Grades A-C) standard or equivalent. 

IT SKILLS – Working expertise in the use of standard IT packages such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel including formula manipulation, Powerpoint and Access) and good technical knowledge around networking protocols and the Internet.

DATABASES – A solid understanding of database design and management techniques including querying, sorting, extracting, importing, and exporting data.

WEB – A sound understanding of web design and development, and competent programming skills including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET MVC, VB/VB.NET/C# and Visual Studio.
