We are currently seeking a Graduate Embedded Software Engineer based at our Portishead site to support the company’s product development.

Your primary responsibilities in this role would be:

  • Undertake the definition, development, testing and modification of software products in support of the company’s research and development activities and commercial deliveries.
  • Provide support and mentoring to other Software Developers and Engineers.
  • Produce technical documentation in accordance with company procedures. Guide best practices in technical documentation for the team.

Who we are looking for:

The successful candidate will have good programming skills in languages like C, C++ and Python.  Have a good understanding of the principles of software design, development, maintenance, debug and testing of microprocessors and microcontrollers. At Viper Innovations we work with ARM microprocessors and STM32 microcontrollers. Exposure to embedded operating systems such as Linux / UNIX would be a plus.  Knowledge of relevant software design, coding, and quality standards would also be a plus.  

The Embedded Software Engineer will be expected to develop firmware for communication interfaces including Ethernet, RS485, RS232, CAN, LCD.

Must have achieved a minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Embedded Software Engineering or an equivalent/relevant degree. An accredited master’s degree would be preferable but not essential.
