Summer 2022 start date.
Viper Innovations provides state of the art products and service solutions for the Global Subsea Oil & Gas and UK Rail Industries. With our passion for product and service development this is an exciting time to join a dedicated and dynamic customer focused team within which you will be encouraged and rewarded for your contribution to the future success of the company.
We are currently seeking a Junior Systems Engineer to join our Products and Systems team. The newly formed team is charged with the responsibility of leading the direction of Viper Innovations’ products and engineering them from the systems perspective. Perhaps more unusually for a typical ‘junior role’ the position comes with a high level of responsibility and making a notable difference right from the outset. Be under no illusion, if you have an aspiration to be leading the design of products across different disciplines and the person the business looks to in order to understand how those designs are implemented, this is the job for you!
The role will be based at our Portishead site, and you will be given the opportunities to lead and co-ordinate requirement capture, sign off products for release and prototype your new designs to assess their feasibility to name but a few. You will be closely working the Product Owners and will have the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the Product Roadmaps and potentially join that side of the team as a Product Owner too. The areas in which you will work will be focussing on multi-disciplinary product development (electrical and software) along with cloud platform solutions. You will also be exposed to the latest development tools such as JIRA, GitLab and JAMA.
The successful candidate will need to be outstanding for their current experience level to meet the expectations of the business. They will have demonstrated a great academic track record along with adept time management and interpersonal skills. Direct knowledge of the above areas of technology is not required, but an enthusiasm and passion to develop and self-learn in this area is essential.
Must have achieved a minimum 2:1 bachelor’s degree. An accredited master’s degree would be preferable but not essential.
In return we can offer career progression, flexible working hours, 26 days' holiday plus bank holidays, private medical healthcare scheme, life assurance, contributory pension scheme and profit related bonus.
