LUR has a fantastic opportunity for a Graduate Cloud Engineer to be part of our digital transformation. Within this role you will play a leading role in all aspects of our continuing development and become competent in many technical areas.

Job Overview

This role of Graduate Cloud Engineer is key to our business transformation and will be focused on the development and implementation of digital solutions to meet our strategic goals.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to scope out and implement digital solutions
  • Maintenance of the website including monitoring of security, updating existing features and creating additional content using Elementor.
  • Building and maintaining AWS cloud-based applications to meet client needs utilising features such as lambda functions, API gateway, EC2, DynamoDB, Step functions and S3
  • Developing database solutions and implementing using AWS data pipeline to update the website
  • Writing code in Python, using pandas and PyMySQL to manipulate data and SDK’s. e.g. Boto3
  • Tracking website engagement using Google Analytics
  • Conducting data analysis to deliver key insights internally and to clients using Excel and PowerBI
  • To keep abreast of the latest digital trends/innovations which could be of interest to LUR, with a view of how/why it could benefit the business
  • Present project updates and give demonstrations to key stakeholders
  • Must actively challenge tradition with a view to improvement through digitalisation and innovation
  • Attend industry seminars, conferences and exhibitions to keep up-to-date with emerging industry trends and technology advances
  • An ability to apply logic to your work and be able to translate to those less familiar with ‘digital’ terminology
  • Be capable of thinking analytically and with an ability to solve problems using data
  • Must have an enthusiasm and passion for continuous improvement and innovation

Qualifications & Key Skills

A minimum requirement of a technical degree at 2:2 or above, as well as the below:

  • Working knowledge of programming Languages: Python, Javascript, CSS, HTML, JSON
  • Certification: AWS Cloud Practitioner or similar
  • Hardware Platforms: Raspberry Pi
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerBI or other data analysis programs
