Our Commitment

As a growing international organisation, we are committed to the highest standards of ethics and professionalism, for our customers, our people and the environment.

LGC’s reputation has been built on our commitment to using science for a safer world and our ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is part of a bigger system of people, values and infrastructure that supports this vision.

Our ESG work focuses on three main areas:

1. Protecting our people and the environment

We are committed to the prevention of pollution and to reducing the environmental impact of our business operations in order to protect the health and safety of our employees, surrounding communities and ecosystems.

We provide the right level of advice, awareness and competency to our people and our contractors’ employees.

We work with our suppliers to ensure that goods and services we procure are sourced in a sustainable manner as appropriate within commercially reasonable constraints.

2. Supporting our local communities

We organise open days to promote science awareness, encouraging children of all ages to see our science in action; we contribute to charitable projects managed at local level.

Every other year we select one charity which we support across the group, through a number of fundraising activities.

3. Law compliance

Our policies and actions demonstrate we are an equal opportunity employer and we abide by local regulations.

We adhere to responsible trading practices, including anti-slavery act, sanctions list, supply-chain management.

Our ESG purpose

LGC recognises that it has a moral, legal and financial obligation relating to health, safety, environment and social improvement across all our business activities. Active participation and engagement at all levels is of great importance to ensure ownership by all employees. LGC endeavours to meet legal compliance at all times with regulatory and legislative requirements.

We believe in sustainable development that meets today’s needs, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. We acknowledge the importance of delivering a reliable and continuous service to our customers, which will contribute to a better quality of life and a safe and protected environment.
