Gradcracker is the UK’s careers website for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) university students. We work with some of the world’s biggest companies, such as Rolls-Royce, Fujitsu and ExxonMobil, who pay to advertise their work placements and graduate programmes on our site.
One of the main reasons Gradcracker has become so successful is because we provide the highest standards of customer service in the industry. We respond to customers’ requests and queries promptly and with the utmost care and warmth, consistently ensuring that they have the best experience possible and continue to work with us year after year.
You’ll be the first point of contact for our customers, dealing with their requests and building genuine relationships along the way. Responsibilities will include the making and maintenance of each of our employers’ microsites (we call them Hubs), adding jobs, video content, company information and more. There’ll certainly be chances to get creative - we’re relying on you to make the Hubs as attractive and engaging to our students as possible.
We’re looking for someone who is down to earth, enthusiastic and comfortable with telephone and email communication. You’ll also need good English skills with a high attention to detail, and be ready to work closely with customers and colleagues and take on real responsibility at an early stage.
To apply please send your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our website is relied upon for recruitment by both STEM students and major international organisations alike, and it’s managed and developed by our in-house web team. To preserve our position as industry leaders, it’s essential the team continually works to improve the site, implementing new ideas and features that our students and employers will love.
You’ll be involved in all areas of web/mobile app development, including working on our App - the first graduate recruitment App launched in the UK. But there are no boxes or pigeon holes for developers at Gradcracker. You’ll have free rein to come up with, and realise, any great ideas you may have. So wherever your interests lie, you’ll be able to make a big impact.
We’d love to find someone who’s self-driven and willing to learn, with great problem-solving skills. And you’ll need to be passionate about the latest tech, as that’s what you’ll be working with. Specific skills we’re looking for are listed below:
Much of gradcracker.com is built with PHP, so it would be preferable if you are already familiar with this language.

Although we’re firmly established as the market leader in our sector, our target audience - STEM students - refreshes each year. This means we have to work hard to make the annual influx of new students aware of us, the various employers we work with, and the many benefits of using Gradcracker. And this is where you come in!
Being on the phone is an essential part of the role. You’ll use it to research and build close relationships with university contacts, distribute our marketing materials to their careers services and relevant departments, and develop promotional strategies, all to ensure STEM students know that we are ‘where the jobs are’.
There may also be occasional opportunities to attend on-campus careers fairs (most likely in September to November), interacting with students and meeting your university contacts, discussing what we do and how we can help them.
Because of the nature of the job, we need someone who’s really keen to be on the phone. You’ll need to have an excellent telephone manner, and be creative, enthusiastic and energetic - ready to work closely with colleagues and take on genuine responsibility at an early stage. Training, if required, will be provided.
To apply please send your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org.
