Nottingham Chemical & Environmental Engineering Society (ChemEnvSoc) Events
Annual Lady Trent Ball
Lady Trent is our formal dinner, every year in May, planned and executed by the committee at the end of the year for a night of formal entertainment to celebrate another (almost complete!) academic year and is a big hit with members.
Confessions of a Researcher
Our “Confessions of a Researcher” events are a staff and student favourite – researchers at the university (often our lecturers) share their life experiences in a local pub with the society and what it’s like to be a researcher! This event usually happens three times a term however keep updated on our Hub and Social media to find out the specific dates nearer the time.
Frank Morton is the annual sporting competition between all the Chem Eng departments from universities all across the UK. Each year, we all descend on a pre-determined city for a day of sports and then a pub crawl through the centre of the city, finally finishing up in a nightclub. It’s a great event to meet people from all over and develop contacts for further socials during the year. Keep updated on our Hub and social media to find out where it is held each year.
We have 3 sports teams that compete in the Intra-Mural Sports league at the university: Football, Netball and a recent addition, Volleyball. All teams train and compete with a fun and casual atmosphere against other course-based sports teams. We updated on our Hub and social media to see when we are playing.
Our annual Autumn dinner held in October is an occasion to get the society together. Keep updated on our social media pages and on our society hub.
