Whether you study physics or not, the Hull University Physics Society is a fantastic way to meet new and like-minded people. As one of the most active societies we have a great range of social events, from bar crawls and nights out to visits to Big Fun, non-drinking socials and a yearly trip abroad. We also offer our members the opportunity to tutor sixth form students in a local school.
We have excellent ties with St Mary's College, in particular the Physics Department. Once a week, on a Wednesday afternoon, volunteers from the Physics Society go to the College to tutor and help AS/A Level students through their Physics course.
This is a great way for us to engage with the local community and to inspire and help young minds. It also gives us a great opportunity to learn some valuable skills such as teaching and communication whilst enforcing the foundations to help us though our degrees.
