Where the STEM jobs are
Gradcracker works here's the proof
The University of Lincoln's Biomedical Science Society encourages its members to start thinking about their careers and prospects from early on, as Biomedical Science is a very broad area.
We invite lots of Lincoln Biomedical graduates to talk to us about their experiences and where they are now, employers come in to tell us about their companies and how to get a job with them, we have workshops with the careers centre to help our members create an academic CV, we give advice on placements and years in industry from current students at the university who are doing them and have just come back from them, and we strongly encourage networking with all the professionals who come in to give the talks.
We also have revision and support sessions for exams and coursework throughout the year. We try to raise as much money as we can for a number of different research related charities - these include but are not limited to; Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK and Alzheimers Society. We are also affiliated with the Institute of Biomedical Science, who we work closely with to provide careers advice, and they also support us with learning materials. Aside from this, we have a variety of socials from themed club nights, joint socials with other science societies, and film and takeaway nights.
