Nuclear Graduates
Nuclear
Nuclear Graduates is a graduate scheme designed to develop the next generation of young professionals for the nuclear sector.
  • The UK nuclear industry’s need for future leaders is greater than ever with existing power stations at the end of their working lives ready to be decommissioned, and a new wave of plants being given the go-ahead.
  • The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority has brought together leading businesses and organisations to create Nuclear Graduates – the most comprehensive scheme the industry has ever seen – in order to fill the potential skills shortage.
  • Nuclear Graduates’ sponsors include UK Atomic Energy Authority, Rolls-Royce and the Environment Agency.

A bespoke, two-year development programme

There’s never been a more exciting time to join the UK’s nuclear sector, with new technologies, systems and processes requiring new ideas to overcome the challenges at the heart of the sector and change the face of nuclear forever.

The award-winning Nuclear Graduates scheme offers you a unique opportunity to design your own development programme. The bespoke two-year plan, devised with the help of your own personal mentor, will allow you to develop your technical and behavioural capabilities throughout the programme.

You’ll undertake three secondments with leading organisations across the nuclear sector. Working alongside industry experts at the forefront of the design, development, installation and maintenance of cutting-edge equipment, you’ll gain unrivalled experience, and, at the end of your training, you’ll be in prime position to be a future leader in the nuclear industry.

Nuclear Decommissioning
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) group is responsible for the clean-up of the UK’s earliest nuclear sites.
  • As owners of one of the largest nuclear decommissioning and remediation programmes in Europe, our main priority is the safe, secure and cost-effective nuclear clean-up and decommissioning of 17 nuclear sites, preparing them for their next use.
  • We also play an important role in supporting the government’s aspiration for the UK to be a global leader in the civil nuclear sector.
  • We invest £100 million each year in research, development and innovation, and £30 million in apprentice and graduate development.
