Overview:

Graphnet Health are seeking Analytics Trainees looking to start a career in the fast-paced environment of healthcare analytics. The role involves working with highly experienced and passionate people to support a wide range of health and care organisations to improve the health of their populations.

The role is part of our early careers training programme. You will rotate between our Analytics, Solution Assurance, Development, Development escalation and Research/Data Science teams to develop a range of skills and establish a future career path with Graphnet.

The role will require the individual to be flexible and may involve travel to customer sites within the UK.

About the team:

Our Population Health Analytics team in supporting a wide range of regional and national projects to improving the health of the population. The current worldwide pandemic has proved that utilising timely data and insight can help save lives. Our team has been in the thick of things developing analytics solutions to help manage the crisis. Our team are highly experienced and passionate about health and care; using technology to help improve the health and care of the nation. This role provides the successful candidate the chance to contribute to Population Health Analytics programmes throughout the country.

Population Health Analytics is a huge growth area for Graphnet. We have customer solutions holding billions of records and use entirely cutting-edge Microsoft Azure cloud technology to deliver our services. 

What you’ll do:

Across the rotations you’ll take on a variety of analytics tasks including software development, quality assurance, data analysis and building data visualisations.

Some examples of what you’ll do is:

  • Create and quality assure Population Health Analytics software using the Microsoft Azure toolkit
  • Scope and develop population health use cases with customers
  • Build data visualisations using Microsoft Power BI
  • Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for preventative care
  • Support our customers to help fix issues 
  • Support Data Scientists and research projects

Possible rotations

Population Health teams including Analytics, Solution Assurance, Development, Development escalation and Research/Data Science. Other Graphnet teams including Customer Transformation and Support.

  • The teams above indicate the general teams that will form part of the rotation scheme. Graduates will rotate through a combination of the teams above and we will work to match interests to team capacity where possible. 

Who we’re looking for:

We are looking for individuals who learn quickly, have a passion for health and care and have enthusiasm for working in a challenging and dynamic environment. We need strong communicators to translate data into useful insights. You will be data-oriented, a problem solver and knowledge sharer.  

What you need:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree/other qualification in a related subject
  • Understanding of analytics technology such as SQL, databases, and business intelligence tools
  • Understanding of statistical analysis techniques

It would also be beneficial if you have any of the below:

  • Practical experience using Python or R
  • An understanding of health or social care informatics
  • Skills in database design and development including writing SQL queries
  • Experience and knowledge of Azure services, including Azure Data Factory, Databricks or Azure Synapse
  • Practical experience of modern data visualisation tools e.g. Microsoft Power BI
  • Experience of working with customers to design analytics applications such as dashboards and reports. 
  • Some experience in other development languages and technical standards such as Powershell, JSON, C# .Net
