I studied at the University of Bath, where there is a large emphasis on sustainable design. I applied to Engenuiti as I wanted to continue this type of learning and apply my values into practical design. It is inspiring to work with, and be mentored by, people who are so driven by these values and work hard to positively impact the construction industry.
I've had experience on various types of project, from small-scale renovations to large leisure centres. Working in a small practice like Engenuiti has allowed me to integrate into project teams and take on responsibility from early on. Smaller teams also allows for increased exposure to all aspects of the design process, and with the leadership team prioritising a versatile range of project experience for graduates, I feel I am on the way to becoming a well-rounded engineer.
There has always been lots of guidance around chartership, which makes it feel less daunting. We are encouraged to start building up to it from the start, with regular check-ins on our progress and monthly exam preparation sessions, which will definitely make it a smoother process in future.
I think the mentoring system provides a comfortable space for everyone to feel looked after, and it is a good opportunity to receive regular feedback for personal growth as an engineer. I find the environment at Engenuiti very friendly and inclusive, and think it's a very enjoyable place to work!
