Honggoo has joined Blake Clough as a Power Systems Consultant. At Blake Clough, Honggoo has worked on diverse grid feasibility studies and connection offer reviews for various embedded generators, providing detailed and technical advice to clients. Additionally, he has conducted various power system studies, particularly fault and dynamic analyses using DIgSILENT PowerFactory, addressing client inquiries to help construct stable power systems in the UK.
Honggoo studied Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Ulsan in Korea, obtaining a BEng degree. He recently completed an MSc in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Edinburgh, where his dissertation focused on designing the Orkney power grid using PyPSA (Python for Power System Analysis) to investigate the technical reasons for wind curtailment on Orkney Island. Honggoo also has experience in scripting and power systems analysis.
Prior to his MEng, Honggoo served as a Communication Officer and Electrical Safety Supervisor in the Republic of Korea Army. In this role, he managed network systems and ensured electrical safety for military installations.
Outside of work, Honggoo enjoys playing football, working out and traveling.
