Junior Support Engineer

We currently have exciting opportunities for Junior Support Engineers to join one of our fast-growing IT consulting clients. On joining us, you will complete a specifically designed training pathway, approx. 6-7 weeks in duration before joining the client onsite in Farnborough. The training is designed to build upon your existing technical skills and will be delivered by our expert training team. 

What do we look for in a Junior Support Engineer?

We are looking to recruit Junior IT Support Engineers to join us on exciting and important work that is underway. The successful candidates will be fully briefed on the work and their part in it.

They will have daily contact with the company directors, and the opportunity for progression. Time and money will be provided for personal development and training. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the company going forward, in work and in its wider environment.  

We are looking for candidates who are new to the IT industry and are looking to kickstart their career. No previous experience or skills are required. We value individuals based on their enthusiasm and drive to learn within this fast-paced and exciting field and who have a passion for IT through their education or personal interests. 

Responsibilities 

  • Provide first response to tickets, calls, emails and monitoring events 
  • Engage with users face-to-face 
  • Perform initial triage of incidents and requests 
  • Escalate tickets within the team to 2nd and 3rd line engineers as required  
  • Onboarding and offboarding of internal and customer users 
  • Ongoing support of user accounts, access and permissions 
  • Build, deploy and troubleshoot end user devices (EUDs) 
  • Testing, build and tracking of physical assets including EUDs and servers 

Desirable Skills 

  • Knowledge of Windows 10/11 and MacOS operating systems 
  • Understanding of computer components and physical hardware including desktop and laptop computers and servers 
  • Understanding of basic networking concepts 
  • Azure/Microsoft 365 user and device administration 
  • InTune & Jamf administration 
  • Active Directory user and group administration

Salary

  • Incremental Salary: £19,500 during the initial training period.
  • Increasing to £27,000 on completion of training and on client assignment.
  • Further increase to £30,000 after 12 months on client site.

A word on UK Security Clearance

Due to the secure nature of the position and working environment, you must have or be eligible to obtain Security Clearance.
