Intern (Technology & Research) (Open to graduates)
Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Economics.
About the team
Our Research & Technology team works closely within our firm, operating as an extension of the deal teams to craft investment theses, uncover trends and themes, and evaluate investment opportunities across Europe. We are a private equity real estate firm focused on industrial and last-mile logistics.
We are looking for a technical intern to help build and run the data, tools and technology behind our investment decisions. The role is varied and hands-on, working with investment, asset management and finance colleagues. This is an initial 6-month, in-person role based in central London, with the option to convert to a full-time position depending on fit.
Responsibilities
Building and maintaining data pipelines that bring internal and external data into our data warehouse
Keeping data accurate and consistent: mapping, reconciling and standardising data from different sources
Turning unstructured information (documents, PDFs, news) into structured, usable data
Developing and maintaining internal web tools and dashboards, with quick turnaround on business requests
Monitoring existing pipelines, tools and dashboards, and fixing issues when they arise
Documenting processes and decisions so our tools are easy to use and maintain
Supporting the team with data and materials for investment and investor work
Potential projects
Applying AI and LLMs to automate manual workflows
Machine learning models to classify and evaluate real estate assets
Building up historical market datasets through automated data collection
Integrating our CRM and data platforms, and building AI tools on top of them
Defining standard metrics and calculations across the firm
New internal tools that give the business instant access to data and analysis
Who we are looking for
Prior experience is not essential. We want someone who is keen, ready to give their all, and can show they pick things up quickly.
A completed bachelor’s degree (or higher) in mathematics, engineering, computer science, physics, economics or another quantitative subject
Hands-on experience with Python or SQL, whether through study, personal projects or work
Able to explain technical work clearly to non-technical colleagues
Genuine enthusiasm and drive: you take ownership, set yourself high standards and are willing to go the extra mile
Proven ability to learn and adapt quickly, e.g. teaching yourself a new tool, language or subject through projects, study or work
Interest in applying AI and technology to real business problems
Structured, critical thinking: able to break down complex problems and solve them in creative ways
Impeccable attention to detail
Self-starter, able to multi-task, switch context and manage your own workload
Nice to haves
Experience with cloud platforms, data warehouses, ETL tools
Experience with LLM APIs or machine learning
Web development experience
Familiarity with Git/GitHub or BI tools like Tableau
Interest in private equity, real estate or finance
The practicalities
Based in our central London office, five days a week
